PersianPainting.net is devoted to the investigation, exploration, and dissemination of information on and about Persian Painting, defined here as coming form Greater Iran from the earliest times to the present day. PersianPainting.net is also intended as a demonstration of how the internet can be employed to aid in this task. It is, in our view, perhaps the greatest development for the dissemination of information since movable type was first employed to create printed books many centuries ago. This site, like much of the internet, is still in its embrionic stage Over time, more material will be added. Information, images, and interactivity will be further refined. Entries here are of two types. Original articles residing on our site, and links to other sites. We will do our utmost to maintain a high scholastic level for all of our articles, and to achieve the best quality in the illustrations. When articles are revised, we will archive previous versions on the site for reference. We invite and encourage anyone qualified and interested in posting pertinent material on PersianPainting.net to contact us for more details.
